Monitoring oil fields surface displacement with InSAR

TRE ALTAMIRA monitors surface displacement for EOR and underground gas storage operations around the world. Satellite-based InSAR data provides insight into the impact of subsurface operations on heave and subsidence at the surface, adding information on geohazards, fault reactivation, well conformance, well failures, and infrastructure stability.

SAR satellite imagery provides the opportunity for a temporally and spatially dense array of displacement measurements over any field. With frequent satellite data acquisitions, it is possible to monitor surface deformations on a weekly to monthly basis. Where snow and vegetation limit the presence of natural reflectors, TRE ALTAMIRA’s corner reflectors, designed specifically for northern climates, provide reliable measurements year-round.
