TRE ALTAMIRA is looking for a full-time InSAR Geospatial Solutions Operator with a geological or engineering background to provide technical support to businesses, primarily in Brazil and other countries, including Spain, France, LATAM, and others.

The new employee will be part of the Geospatial Solutions team dedicated to the analysis, exploitation and reporting of the InSAR results to be delivered to our Clients. This role requires good GIS expertise, excellent writing and communication skills, and a strong focus on Clients.

The Candidate is expected to pick up new technologies quickly, enjoy the challenge of learning new things, and love applying her/his skills to fulfil clients’ needs. The position is for a medium- or entry-level role. The work location is Barcelona, Spain, or fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Managing InSAR datasets with ESRI ArcGIS software to tailor end-users’ needs while ensuring data quality and accuracy
• Writing clear professional reports, mainly in Portuguese, Spanish and English, that incorporate spatial data analysis and geographic information mainly related to mining, oil & gas, civil engineering and natural hazards projects
• Preparing professional presentations to deliver our results to clients in coordination with the sales and technical managers, attending meetings with them
• Liaising with clients to build and maintain strong, professional relationships under the coordination of the managers and senior colleagues
• Managing multiple projects and deadlines while delivering on commitments to clients
• Compiling, managing and integrating spatial datasets obtained from a variety of sources including geological data, production information, optical imagery, and existing maps
• Liaising with the data processing technical team and the sales teams
• Supporting sales and marketing by preparing material (presentations, case histories, white papers, etc.), attending company booths at trade shows, as well as attending technical conferences

Education & Experience requirements

• Post-secondary education in Geology, Geomatics, Civil, Geotechnical or Mine Engineering, or other related technical disciplines
• Knowledge of InSAR and remote sensing
• Good knowledge of ArcGIS software
• Strong communication skills
• C-level English knowledge (writing and speaking)

Required experience and skills

• Master’s degree in Engineering disciplines (Geotechnical, Mining, Environmental, Civil) or Geology, Geomatics, Geophysics
• Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro software and QGIS
• Competency with the Microsoft Office suite (including Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
• Native-level Portuguese (mandatory)
• C-level English knowledge (writing and speaking)

The following skills are an asset

• Knowledge of InSAR, remote sensing and surveying techniques
• Background in mining/oil&gas/civil engineering/geodesy (Geotechnical, Geological, Engineering)
• Previous working experience in Client support

TRE ALTAMIRA is seeking an InSAR Geoscientist with 5 years of experience to join our Geospatial Solutions team in Vancouver. In this role, you will leverage Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) data to track millimeter-scale ground movements and apply your knowledge of physical processes to deliver operational insights across mining, civil engineering, oil & gas, and geohazard projects to create value for our clients, which is always top of mind for us.

This position requires critical thinking, strong communication skills, a deep understanding of geophysical processes, highly organized project management, advanced GIS skills, and an Earth Sciences background.

• Project Management: Simultaneously direct multiple complex projects from inception to delivery, consistently driving on-time execution while exceeding technical standards
• Client Engagement: Act as a technical subject matter expert in meetings and in written communication translating complex geophysical data into actionable reports for stakeholders

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Background: Master’s or PhD in Earth Sciences, Geological/Geotechnical Engineering, Geophysics, or other related disciplines with a strong foundation in physical earth processes
• Technical Proficiency: Proven InSAR knowledge, remote sensing experience, and advanced GIS skills
• Professionalism & Communication: A track record of managing project lifecycles, high attention to detail, professional presentations and fluency in English for client interactions and report writing

This new role is crucial to support all the required system integrations. • Take ownership of the back-end development, ensuring smooth integrations for our internal management software
