Since 1999 we provide displacement measurements and mapping solutions from satellite radar data that are used in a variety of sectors, including oil & gas, mining, civil engineering and geo hazards. We bring together a multidisciplinary team of more than 70 dedicated staff with excellent knowledge of SAR and InSAR applications. Over 200 InSAR projects have been completed, ranging from measuring ground movement over entire countries to identifying individual building movement for forensic investigations.

Our role in the ESA Geohazards Exploitation Platform (GEP)

As leading provider in the Earth Observation industry, TRE ALTAMIRA holds a key role in the development of the platform’s sustainability scenario. We participate in the GEP Project as technology expert and service provider of InSAR derived ground displacement maps using data from the ESA’s ERS, ENVISAT and Sentinel-1 satellites (medium resolution).

For advanced ground motion mapping and monitoring services high resolution satellites offer an enhanced capability due to the higher density of measurement points. Time series of measured points allow a more in depth analysis, like detecting movement accelerations. The maximum information is retrieved from SAR images enabling a better understanding of surface motion and deformation gradient in the monitoring of individual assets and infrastructures. Civil Engineering, Insurance, Oil and Gas and Mining companies or Risk Management are some of the sectors where our high resolution studies are used worldwide.
