Business Development Manager - France

Barcelona

TRE ALTAMIRA is looking for a permanent, full-time Business Development Manager for the French area.

As a member of the sales team the Business Development Manager is expected to manage and conduct sales activities of TRE ALTAMIRA in an effective and efficient manner, as well as to play a role in the development of the company as it grows. This will require the incumbent to contribute to strategic decisions as they relate to TRE ALTAMIRA.

Specific responsibilities and duties

The position will have the following tasks and goals for the area of competence:

  • Reach the sales goals in terms of project revenues and profitability.
  • Maintain and develop the existing portfolio of clients and projects.
  • Identify new opportunities, develop new business relationships and close new contracts.
  • Prepare bids in response to RFPs, tenders and make unsolicited proposals.
  • Prepare and present technical and business papers at national and international trade shows and conferences.
  • Make appropriate sales trip to develop the business.
  • Attend appropriate trade shows and exhibitions at which TRE ALTAMIRA should be visible and represent the company at those shows.
  • Suggest and give input into the production of marketing materials.
  • Work in close cooperation with the CEO, the rest of the sales team, the operations and the accounting teams to balance the growth of new business with the capacity to deliver such new business.
  • Work in close cooperation with other sales managers and the TRE ALTAMIRA group to foster information exchange regarding the business and share technical and operational solutions with them.

Supplementary Duties

  • Providing support to the CEO and Operations efforts of the company.
  • Liaising with the Accounts Department on cost and budget issues.
  • Contributing ideas to improve the company’s overall service to customers.
  • Fostering the sharing of information among the staff of TRE ALTAMIRA and promoting the TRE ALTAMIRA corporate culture to produce a work place in which staff are content and productive.
  • Other duties as required.

Education & Experience requirements

  • French native level with excellent communication, listening and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English (writing and speaking).
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration /Sales /International Business /Management /Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental or Telecom Engineering /Geology or other related technical disciplines.
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or similar relevant roles.
  • Knowledge of InSAR and remote sensing.
  • Knowledge of surveying techniques.
  • Proven experience in the geotechnical sector.

Specific responsibilities and duties

Reporting to our Technical Director, you will also be operating in collaboration with, and have the support of, the rest of the GIS team and our offices in Milan and Barcelona. Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with the data processing team to understand InSAR data sets and ensure they meet required standards.
  • Managing InSAR datasets with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro software to perform quality control procedures and tailor datasets to the needs of the end-users.
  • Writing clear professional reports that incorporate spatial data analysis and geographic information.
  • Preparing professional presentations to deliver our results to clients (alongside more experienced team members).
  • Managing multiple projects and deadlines while delivering on commitments to clients.
  • Building and maintaining strong, professional relationships with clients.
  • Advising and supporting clients on the use of our products in a GIS environment.
  • Compiling, managing, and integrating spatial datasets including geological data, optical imagery, and existing maps.
  • Supporting the sales and marketing team by preparing material, attending company booths at tradeshows, assisting on sales trips and client visits, attending technical conferences, and assisting in the preparation of tenders and proposals.

Education & Experience requirements

  • Programming skills (Python, Matlab, SQL).

SAR Processing Operator

Milano, Barcelona and Vancouver offices

Published on April 23rd, 2020. TRE ALTAMIRA is looking for candidates with an engineering technical background to join our InSAR operations team distributed in the three offices.

The Candidate will process and analyze satellite SAR images to deliver timely and high-quality information products to our clients, and will proactively propose strategies to improve the efficiency of production procedures. This role requires a sound knowledge of SAR data processing, in particular conventional and advanced InSAR techniques. Proactive attitude, excellent capability in problem solving and strong motivation is mandatory for this position.

The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary and international environment, including signal processing engineers, geologists, software developers. An excellent attitude to team working is mandatory.

Your role

  • Process and analyze satellite SAR images with proprietary software (SqueeSAR®).
  • Identify best processing strategies for each project, taking into account all factors that could affect the results.
  • Liaising with the Post-processing team to create deliverables that respect the Company quality standards.
  • Explore and suggest new techniques to improve products
  • Support Sales department providing technical consultancy

Required experience and skills

  • Demonstrated sound knowledge in InSAR technology
  • Sound knowledge of Linux environment
  • Good knowledge of MATLAB™ software
  • C level English knowledge (speaking and writing)
  • Excellent ability to work in a team
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environments

The following skills are desirable

  • Knowledge of other programming software languages (e.g. Python)
  • Familiarity with open source InSAR software
  • Knowledge of an additional foreign language (e.g. Spanish, Italian, French)
