SAR Processing Specialist

Vancouver office

Published on September 27th 2019. Our downtown Vancouver office is looking for a SAR Processing Engineer with a solid technical background to join our team. The work is diverse, interesting and will keep you engaged while allowing you to grow professionally. You will lead our local SAR team, reporting to Milan HQ where processing manager is based. This is a unique opportunity to grow and develop within a small, highly successful team.

Summary of the position

The candidate will process satellite SAR images using TRE ALTAMIRA’s patented algorithms to deliver high-quality InSAR ground deformation products to our clients. This role requires a sound knowledge of SAR data processing, including both conventional and advanced InSAR techniques. You will also proactively propose strategies to improve the efficiency of production procedures. A proactive attitude, excellent problem-solving skills and strong motivation are required.

The candidate will work in a multinational and multidisciplinary environment that includes SAR processing engineers, geoscientists and software developers. A strong aptitude for teamwork is mandatory.

Your role

  • Process satellite SAR images with proprietary software (SqueeSAR®)
  • Identify the best processing strategies for each project, in coordination and benefiting from the extensive experience of other members of the processing team in other offices
  • Liaising with the post-processing team to create deliverables that meet high-quality standards
  • Explore and suggest new techniques to improve products
  • Support sales and other departments with technical advice

Required experience and skills

  • Knowledge of InSAR processing at PhD or MSc level
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux environment
  • Good knowledge of MATLAB™ software
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Proven ability to work in a team

The following skills are assets

  • Additional coding skills (e.g. Python)
  • Knowledge of other languages (e.g. Spanish, Italian, French)

Jr. GIS Analyst

Summary of the position

You will apply your advanced GIS skills to manage large geospatial datasets and prepare professional reports and presentations for delivery to our clients. This role requires excellent GIS, writing and communication skills. Reporting to our Technical Director, you will also be operating in collaboration with the rest of the GIS team and our offices in Milan and Barcelona. You will need a strong customer focus to foster solid and lasting relationships with our clients.

Your role

  • Conduct post-processing of InSAR datasets with ESRI ArcGIS software to tailor datasets to the needs of the end-users while ensuring data quality and accuracy
  • Write clear professional reports that incorporate spatial data analysis and geographic information
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines while delivering on commitments to clients
  • Present results to clients. Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients
  • Advise and support clients on the use of our products in a GIS environment
  • Liaise with the data processing team to understand InSAR data sets and ensure they meet required quality standards
  • Compile, manage and integrate spatial datasets including geological data, optical imagery, and existing maps
  • Support the sales and marketing team by preparing material, attending company booths at tradeshows, assisting on sales trips and client visits, attending technical conferences and assisting in the preparation of tenders and proposals

Required experience and skills

  • Advanced knowledge of ERSI ArcGIS software
  • Post-secondary education in Geology, Geomatics, Civil, Geotechnical or Mine Engineering, or other related disciplines
  • Knowledge of remote sensing
  • Programming skills (Python, Matlab, SQL)
  • Technical report writing and fluency in written/spoken English
  • Competency with the Microsoft Office suite (including Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and Google Docs

Post-Processing Operator

Barcelona office

Published on August 12th 2019. The Barcelona office of TRE ALTAMIRA is looking for a permanent, full-time Post-Processing Operator with a geological or engineering technical background.

The Post-Processing Team is dedicated to the analysis and exploitation of SAR data provided by the Processing Department and the delivery to our Clients. This role requires very good GIS expertise, excellent writing and communication skills, as well as a strong focus on Clients. An InSAR expertise is not mandatory, although the Candidate is supposed to pick up new technologies quickly, should enjoy the challenge of learning new things and she/he loves applying her/his skills to fulfil clients’ needs.

Your role

  • Conducting post-processing of InSAR datasets with ESRI ArcGIS software to tailor datasets to the needs of the end-users while ensuring data quality and accuracy

Processing Operator

The Candidate will process and analyze satellite SAR images to deliver timely and high quality information products to our clients, and will proactively propose strategies to improve the efficiency of production procedures. This role requires a sound knowledge of SAR data processing, in particular conventional and advanced InSAR techniques. Proactive attitude, excellent capability in problem solving and strong motivation is mandatory for this position.

The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary and international environment, including signal processing engineers, geologists, software developers. An excellent attitude to team working is mandatory.
